In September 1944 the Milizia Armata, an Italian Fascist security unit, was accepted in the Waffen-SS. It is unknown to whom the Legione SS Italiana, the 1st Italian Volunteer Sturmbrigade and the subunits Debica and Vendetta were subjected to.
They participated in the anti-partisan operations and had battles with the allies. In April 1945 the battle brigade received a free SS Division’s number. Further data about the division’s battles are missing. It is only known that the subunits operated separately.
Insignia:
Runic symbols SS on the collar patches.
(The division was planned to have a runic symbol with a fashise emblem in April 1945, but it is unknown whether it was worn).
